Job Purpose (Summary):

To provide specialized advisory services in commercial affairs, improve the company’s economic performance, increase revenue, expand markets, and ensure the effectiveness and transparency of the company’s commercial activities.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans in accordance with the organization’s plans and monitor their implementation;
  • Provide professional advice to company leadership on commercial planning, sales strategies, and market development;
  • Analyze market conditions, supply and demand, pricing, and competition to support effective commercial decision-making;
  • Review and evaluate company projects, transactions, and commercial activities and provide corrective recommendations;
  • Assist in preparing short-term, medium-term, and long-term commercial plans;
  • Provide advice on procurement, sales, storage, and distribution of food commodities in line with economic principles;
  • Assess commercial risks and propose solutions to minimize potential losses;
  • Support commercial negotiations, contract drafting, and memorandums of understanding from a commercial perspective;
  • Provide technical opinions on tenders, procurement, and commercial transactions;
  • Monitor and analyze financial and commercial reports to improve revenue and reduce costs;
  • Propose innovative solutions to increase market share and improve commercial services;
  • Coordinate with finance, procurement, and operations units to achieve commercial objectives;
  • Prepare analytical and advisory reports for company leadership;
  • Perform other duties assigned by authorities in accordance with laws, regulations, and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Minimum Requirements for Shortlisting:

Education:

  • At least a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Public Administration

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience as a Commercial Advisor in Emirati (government) institutions;
  • Strong knowledge of trade principles, market dynamics, commercial contracts, and economic analysis;
  • Strong skills in report writing, negotiation, and formal communication.

Other Skills (short courses, in-service training, etc.):

  • Full proficiency (written and spoken) in one national language (Pashto or Dari) and good knowledge of English;
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Windows) and other office and internet-related tools;
  • Full knowledge of applicable national laws (Labor Law, State-Owned Companies Law, Articles of Association of State-owned Corporation of Arzaq, etc.);
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
