Purpose of the Position
Providing specialized commercial advice in business affairs, improving the company’s economic performance, increasing revenues, developing markets, and ensuring the effectiveness and transparency of the company’s commercial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans in accordance with the organization’s operational plan and monitor their implementation;
- Provide professional advice to the company leadership regarding commercial planning, sales strategies, and market development;
- Analyze market conditions, supply and demand, pricing, and competition for effective commercial decision-making;
- Review and evaluate the company’s projects, transactions, and commercial activities and provide corrective recommendations;
- Cooperate in preparing short-term, medium-term, and long-term commercial plans;
- Provide advice regarding procurement, sales, storage, and distribution of food supplies according to economic principles;
- Assess commercial risks and provide solutions to reduce potential losses;
- Participate in commercial negotiations, contracts, and memorandums of understanding from a commercial perspective;
- Provide technical opinions regarding tenders, procurement, and commercial transactions of the company;
- Monitor and analyze financial and commercial reports to improve revenues and reduce expenses;
- Suggest innovative solutions to increase market share and improve the company’s commercial services;
- Coordinate with financial, procurement, and operational units to achieve commercial objectives;
- Prepare analytical and advisory reports for the company leadership;
- Perform other duties assigned by the authorities in accordance with laws, regulations, and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Applicants must meet at least the following requirements to be shortlisted:
Educational Qualifications
- At least a Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Public Policy
- Public Administration
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience as a Commercial Advisor in Emirate institutions;
- Full familiarity with commercial principles, markets, commercial contracts, and economic analysis;
- Strong skills in report writing, negotiation, and official communication.
Additional Skills
- Full verbal and written proficiency in one of the national languages (Pashto or Dari), as well as good knowledge of English;
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Windows, internet, and other office-related software;
- Full knowledge of the applicable laws of the country (Labor Law, State-Owned Companies Law, Articles of Association of State-Owned Corporation of Arzaq, etc.);
- Ability to establish professional relations with Emirate and non-Emirate institutions.
